Talent Ed

Effective January 2016 Support Staff will be evaluated using a new set of forms. The forms were developed collaboratively with building Administrators and Supervisors and shared with Union leaders for feedback. The goals of the new forms are as follows:

  • Implement a paperless performance evaluation system.

  • Use key performance indicators common to all Support Staff.

  • Reduce, simplify, and standardize the performance indicators and rating scale.

  • Make the primary purpose of evaluation about employee development.

The major changes you will see are as follows:

  • Evaluations will be completed through an online system called Talent Ed. It is the same system currently being used for Teacher evaluations.

  • The rating scale has been reduced from four levels (or in some cases 5 levels) of performance to three levels:

  • Exceeds expectations

  • Meets expectations

  • Does not meet expectations

For all Support Staff, the first three evaluation categories are the same:

  • Professionalism

  • Communication and Relationships

  • Quality of Work

  • The fourth category is job-specific

There is also a self-evaluation and goal-setting option (not required). The intent is to open communication between evaluators and staff regarding goals and performance.

  • If you are on cycle for evaluation this school year (2015/16) you should have received a link from Talent Ed with your User name and Password. Talent Ed is the on-line system we will use for Evaluations starting January 2016 for Support Staff (already in place for certified staff starting 2014/15).

  • If you are NOT on cycle for evaluation this school year, you will NOT receive a link to Talent Ed at this time.

If you would like to view the evaluation forms, they can be found in PDF format on Inside 203 – HR
